Exceptional vehicles are those with a configuration that exceeds, due to specific functional needs, the limits of shape or mass established in Articles 61 and 62 of the New Italian Highway Code.

The TECS – Exceptional Transports Service Centre, located at the Rondissone tollbooth of the Concessionaire SATAP, is responsible for issuing authorisations for transit on the A58 Tangenziale Est Esterna di Milano.
