Environmental Impact

A58-TEEM proves to be a modern, innovative and environmentally friendly project. In order to optimise the integration of the infrastructure within the territory, significant measures were implemented: the use of asphalt, barriers and sound-absorbing dunes aimed at reducing the noise impact from vehicles, the use of flood control basins and purification plants to treat the rainwater that is deposited on the roadway, safeguarding the local aquifer, and, finally, the extensive use of LED lighting systems to reduce the consumption of the energy needed to operate the systems and for a high degree of customisation of the visual signalling of the infrastructure, increasing the level of safety offered to travellers.

ISO 9001:2015 certification

Quality Management System

Tangenziale Esterna S.p.A. has applied a Quality Management System since 2013 in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, with reference to the purpose of “execution of the concession contract having as its object the design, construction and management of TEEM”.

The certificate confirms that all of the Company’s operations are subject to regular monitoring and comply with a standard of excellence for quality management systems that is known and used worldwide. TE also intends in this way to accredit its commitment at all levels with the aim of making the infrastructure-system under construction a work of quality, integrated into the environment and at the service of the territory.

ISO 39001:2012 certification

Road traffic safety management system

Tangenziale Esterna S.p.A.’s focus on innovation is recognised, having achieved ISO 39001 certification on Road Safety in 2013, the first to do so in Italy.

ISO 39001 was published in 2012 and identifies the requirements for road traffic safety (RTS) management systems. Its main purpose is to improve road safety by reducing the number of deaths and serious injuries in road accidents. This system is suitable for public or private companies and organisations with a high road impact. In particular, there are three core business groups influencing road safety:

• transport of goods and people by road (vehicle operators);
• design, construction, operation and maintenance of the road network;
• generation of road traffic demand (large events, centres with high user flows).

ISO 45001:2018 certification

Occupational Health and Safety Management

Tangenziale Esterna obtained ISO 45001 certification in 2020, an international standard aimed at managing occupational health and safety, with the objective of guaranteeing workers a healthy and safe operation and environment, preventing accidents and occupational diseases.

Through worker training sessions, periodic audits and reviewing the performance of company processes, Tangenziale Esterna constantly monitors its activities, implementing all necessary measures to reduce risks and seize opportunities to improve the working conditions of its employees and collaborators.
