Around one kilometre of the north-east sector of the municipal district of Casalmaiocco will be traversed by the Outer East Bypass (Tangenziale Est Esterna: TEEM). In this area, the Bypass will be mostly laid at a slight elevation of about 2 metres above ground level. The 455-metre-long Cologno artificial tunnel, to be built using a cut-and-cover technique, will reduce the impact of the road where it meets the built-up zones of Casalmaiocco and Dresano.

Other related works to upgrade secondary roads will be carried out in the area.

The building of an alternate route to SP 138 (also known as the “Pandina” Highway) in Madonnina of Dresano, will give rise to a new grid of roads with a total length of about one kilometre forming a new route that will allow medium/long-distance traffic to bypass the town of Dresano.

The upgrading of the SP 159 between the towns of Casalmaiocco and Vizzolo Predabissi will create a new grid of roads with a total length of 1.3 kilometres, again for the use of medium/long-distance traffic. The new route will also see the construction of several roundabouts (as well as the remodelling of existing ones) to connect the new Bypass with the existing roads.

Finally, the municipality is to get a new linking road to the TEEM interchange at Vizzolo Predabissi.

The Casalmaiocco district also stands to benefit from Special Project Environmental No. 4 (“Cavo Marocco-Cologno”), which entails environmental engineering works to protect the dense network of agricultural irrigation ditches and the creation of an urban fringe park above the artificial tunnel at Cologno, which will reconnect the Village of Ambrosiano Dresano with Cologno.
