TEEM will run through municipal territory for around 2.5 km, predominantly at ground level before rising gradually to the viaduct overpass spanning the River Lambro and the Milan-Bologna rail line.

The area will also see construction of a tollbooth-equipped interchange between TEEM and ordinary roads, connected to existing roadways via a new dedicated link.

The municipalities of Vizzolo Predabissi, Melegnano and Cerro al Lambro are involved in Tangenziale Esterna Spa’s largest “greening” intervention, creating a new 13-hectare nature area along with a major reclamation project for the “La Collina del Biancospino” rubbish dump. There are also plans to build 6 km of new cycle/pedestrian paths to criss-cross the area.
